DARCY ROSE

Darcy grew up in Horseheads, NY and was a big part of every community theater in the area from the time she was 9 years old. She left Horseheads at age 19 to major in Acting at UCLA and stayed in Los Angeles for 13 years working as a professional actress (credits include Grey’s Anatomy and Without A Trace) and acting teacher. She was a head teacher in on-camera acting for kids at the prestigious young actors’ conservatory, The Playground, in LA and has developed curricula for several acting programs in LA, Manhattan, and Birmingham, AL, including a program for children on the Autism spectrum. JULIA DEFRANK
Photographer
Julia looked through a viewfinder at the age of two and hasn’t stopped since. She is now the owner of Fayerbanke Foto, specializing in family and child portraiture. She has a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, a bachelor's degree in Psychology, and various trainings in photography. Her vast experience working with children began as a nanny in Manhattan, she also taught children with autism in Los Angeles, provided speech therapy in upstate NY, and is presently building her family photography business, FAYERBANKE FOTO in Southern NJ and the Finger Lakes Region of Upstate NY. Julia has incredible instincts with kids of all ages and has a knack for bringing out the best in them on camera. She is an incredible asset to all the programs she’s a part of at Acting Out NY!
RACHEL FRANK
Head Script Writer/Assistant Director
Rachel has been involved with AONY since its conception as a student! Now that she's aged out, Rachel is excited to help facilitate AONY programs as well as write scripts for week-long camps. In the Ithaca area, Rachel has worked with performance groups such as the Kitchen Theatre Company, Ithaca Ballet, Flight Voice Studio, Trumansburg Conservatory of Fine Arts, and Running to Places. In the past, Rachel has written short-form fiction with Font Literary Magazine, comedic articles with Nonsense Humor Magazine, has published through various blogs and online magazines, and has several published novels, most notably Beast and A Woman Scorned. She's been recognized for her writing by the BOCES writing contest, Newfield High School, and Cornell University. Currently, Rachel spends most of the academic year on Long Island, where she is pursuing a double major in Creative Writing and Drama with honors from Hofstra University. Rachel adores working at AONY and is proud to call the program home!
MIRANDA BIANCHI
Shakespeare Teacher
Miranda Bianchi is an actor and teaching artist based in Ithaca, NY. She has worked with the Hangar Theatre company’s Next Generation School of Theatre, Redhouse Arts Center, Auburn Public Theatre, and CSMA focusing on Shakespeare, freeing the natural voice, and devising within an ensemble. Miranda received her B.A. in Theatre from SUNY Oswego and has also studied at the Moscow Art Theatre and with Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, Mass. When not devising plays in fourth-grade classrooms all over Ithaca or memorizing sonnets, Miranda can be found drinking lots of chai, and playing Dungeons & Dragons.
ALEX CLAVEL
Assistant Director
Alex is a long-time student of AONY and an extremely talented actor! He is passionate about his creativity and loves nothing more than guiding young people towards their own creative endeavors. He is an inspiration to everyone around him and we are so lucky to have him on the AONY team!
BELLA MICALE
Assistant Director
Bella was originally a student at AONY for years until she started assisting. She loves the environment at AONY and especially working with the amazing children. Bella has developed a passion for the performing arts. Whether she is acting, singing, or dancing, she thrives on stage or in front of a camera. She has been a dancer for more than a decade. Bella participates in school musicals and produced and directed her own version of Hamilton. She shadowed the costume designer of Cats on Broadway. She interned for film acting companies and choreographs for Lansing School Musicals. When sharing her passion for the performing arts, she is truly herself, creating what she wants to see in the world.
